Hello! My name is Scarlett, a 24-year-old dance and wedding photographer from the south coast of England. Four years ago, my friend at my old job was looking for someone to take his headshots for an acting portfolio he was putting together, I knew how to work a camera as at the time and for four years previous I had been studying video production, so I agreed to give it a go. They turned out alright, and one of his friends then asked me to take his headshots for a modelling portfolio. At this point I didn't even have my own camera, I had been borrowing one from the university I was at. I had done the two headshot shoots and realising I wasn't half bad, started going out on trips with my friends, doing photoshoots just for fun with a camera someone gave me for free off Facebook. That free camera off Facebook changed my whole life.
Three years after receiving the free camera from Facebook, and after seven years of filmmaking education, April 2022 saw the official establishment of my life as a sole trader. I quit my job and graduated from university to take on photography full time. Since then, my photos have been recognised by elite publications such as Vogue, and Green Wedding Shoes. My wedding photography has taken me from small seaside town whiskey bars, to small villages in the South of France, and most recently, the one and only Westminster Abbey.
My passion for dance photography comes from my own dance background. I trained at Mandy Chapmans Glendale Theatre Arts for 11 years, competing in numerous competitions like the All England Finals and Dance World Cup in Disneyland Paris. My dance training has recently restarted after I decided to return back to the barre to refresh my dance knowledge, I now attend a ballet class once a week with FUSE Theatre Arts Collective.
